At Classical Prep, the role of the Evening Custodian is to be a self-motivated professional who can attend our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. This role is an integral part of our school. Custodians are responsible for general care, cleaning, and minor maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment on campus. Custodians will work consistently to provide a clean, hazard-free, and safe environment for staff and scholars.

Overview

• Position: Part-time, hourly,  12-month non-exempt
• Work Schedule: 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM, 248 days, plus occasional training days provided in advance.  Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.
• Benefits: Not eligible for insurance benefits, and 12 days of PTO.
• Reports to Facility Manager

Specific tasks required of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, common areas, and classrooms
• Clean AC filters and vents 
• Exterior grounds maintenance including, but not limited to dusting, removing cobwebs, emptying trash, picking up trash
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and wash windows
• Collect and dispose of trash
• Restock bathrooms and sanitization supplies
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the school to ensure a positive environment
• Ensure a safe environment at all times
• Moving and/or relocating furniture and equipment

Overtime Eligibility

This job is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act; therefore, it is eligible for overtime pay.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Classical Preparatory School’s evaluation rubric.
