No wonder there is an upswing in childhood obesity and an increase in childhood heart disease in type 2 diabetes. No wonder teachers are worried about a generation of children who cannot entertain themselves and have trouble paying attention in class.

Research shows everyone – even adults – need a break in learning to optimize comprehension. This is especially true with younger children who need physical activity as an outlet. That’s why recess is a crucial part of younger students’ day at Classical Prep. We ask a lot of them academically; we want to give them time to burn off energy and come back reinvigorated to learn more exciting things!
