Classical Preparatory School (CPS) provides a traditional classical education to scholars from toddler through 12th grade. We were the first classical charter school in the state of Florida, located just north of Tampa. A classical/liberal arts education is the educational gold standard for creating innovators, thinkers, and leaders. Position Summary

The Full-Time Guest Teacher position is a ten-month position that reports to the Lower School Dean of Academics and works closely with each K-5 teacher. The primary responsibility of the Full-Time Guest Teacher is providing coverage for classes when a teacher is absent.  

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children

Preferred  Qualifications

• Experience teaching or a desire to be a classroom teacher someday

Duties and Responsibilities

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

• Serve as a Guest Teacher in the absence of the homeroom teacher
• Model and support students in developing virtuous character
• Support the school’s mission through fidelity to policies and practices
• Actively monitor lunch and recess
• Assist the homeroom teachers and grade-level teams with any additional tasks required to keep the classroom and instruction running smoothly and efficiently. This may include but is not limited to such tasks as making copies, changing bulletin boards, filing student papers, classroom organization,  grading, helping individual students, and supporting classroom events.
• Assist with the safe transporting of students between lower school buildings
• Perform additional office duties as assigned by supervisor/administration

Compensation and Terms of Employment

We offer a competitive compensation package that includes benefits. Work calendar includes only the days students are in school, with up to an additional three days for professional development and training.

Hours

Monday through Friday from 7:20 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
