"I love working at Classical Prep for about a million reasons—or maybe I should say about 900-some odd. I love working here because of our students. They come from all sorts of backgrounds and with all different ability levels but they are incredible people. I’m excited every day to give them the skills they don’t even know they need yet—the ability to write a coherent argument or to find a country on a map, to respect that classmate that is aggravating them and to use their words to communicate their frustrations, to follow the rules and to recognize the relationship between actions and consequences.
But I also find great joy working with the staff and faculty we have at CPS. We are a team, and I feel valued and appreciated by so many. Teaching is not for the faint of heart, but with a team like ours, it’s a lot more fun."
Carrie Lamkin, Ph.D.
ELA and Civics Instructor
"Watching my students learn about unfamiliar topics and mastering new skills at CPS has reignited my own desire to learn and grow alongside them. CPS not only teaches students the fundamental knowledge that they need to be able to tackle any problems they face in their future but also cultivates virtuous habits that will lead them to become lifelong learners, change makers, and honest hard working individuals.
Every morning I walk towards my classroom passing by teachers, students, and other CPS staff members and not one person doesn’t go by saying “Good Morning” without a smile on their face. The love and hard work the teachers here pour out is incredible, it makes working here with these remarkable people just that amazing."
Mr. Randy Pham
2nd Grade Teacher
"The administration, staff and faculty at CPS are truly amazing. Everyone at this school is committed to providing an engaging, top-notch education to each of the CPS students in a safe environment.
The scholars are a joy in the classroom; we challenge each other during our engaging classroom discussions.
I look forward to growing as a teacher for many more years at this fantastic school."
Mr. Brad Paul
Logic School Civics Teacher
"I came to CPS 6 years ago with the hope that I could be part of something special. The dirt parking lot didn't scare me away because I believed in the promise of how we could teach children and connect with their families. I feel fortunate to have been able to make wonderful connections with my fellow teachers, administrators and, of course, my beautiful students and their families. Seeing how far our school has come since our humble beginnings 6 short years ago makes me proud to be part of our CPS story."
Mrs. Elizabeth Hogan
"When I first heard about CPS, so many aspects of the school seemed too good to be true. At a time when teachers are leaving the profession in droves due to a lack of support, appreciation, and an overall decline in student accountability, CPS has become a safe haven for passionate teachers who wish to pursue excellence in the world of education. The administration at CPS holds every faculty and staff member to a high standard, and provides them with the support they need to meet and exceed all expectations. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the CPS family and I can honestly say there's nowhere in the world I would rather be."
Mrs. Amy Williams
Logic School ELA Teacher
"I joined the staff at CPS as the school was just beginning, and the longer I work here, the more I understand how important a classical education is for the students of today’s culture. Even at the kindergarten level, we begin teaching students that goodness, truth and beauty are worth pursuing, and using the “great books” as our literature curriculum allows students to understand what qualities a true hero/heroine possesses, inspiring them to develop within themselves the habits of a Classical Prep scholar.
A child’s natural sense of wonder and curiosity are the perfect catalysts for engaging life-long learners to partner with us in making the world a better place. At Classical Prep we believe teaching the liberal arts to scholars enables them to use all of their senses to understand truth, to defend justice, and to create beauty. The teachers and staff at CPS keep our eyes not just on the work of today, but we are filled with hope as we train the leaders of tomorrow."
Mrs. Patience Dussault
