TENTH Grade Reading List

 10th Grade: European History, Rome to Modernity, Ancient and Medieval history 
 All rising 10th grade students must read the required book for their grade level and complete the following assignment: ● See assignment for instructions for Annotated Novel, Reading Response Journal, and Short Essay Questions
 All rising 10th grade students must read one additional book of their choice from the approved book list at their grade level and complete the following assignment:
 
At Classical Preparatory School, we focus on the following habits: Attention, Memorization, Perfect Execution, Order, Reflection, Courtesy, Obedience, Truthfulness, Fortitude, Temperance. 
 
● As you read your selected book, think about how one of the characters possesses or lacks these habits. Select one character and one habit. Then write a paper explaining how this character possesses or lacks the habit. Use at least three examples from the book to support your points (include the page number for the examples). Your paper should be at least two pages typed (double-spaced), 12-point font, with 1-inch margins.
 
Each assignment will be turned in for credit on the first day of school.
